[ Well, a lot was going on, but it's undoubtable that they would manage to pass in the middle of the hallways and all that. So at one point when he's about to pass her, instead he stops when it's a little later after their first conversation, looking kind of intently on her. ]
[It takes her a brief moment to place him, given that they've all just arrived here and barely gotten to know each other when half of them aren't covered in snow or winter gear. But Blue Angel does vaguely remember speaking with him before, so there's no hesitation when she nods, moving to walk with him.
She does look kind of curious, though. Whenever she judges that they've moved far enough:]
I don't know anyone all that well and I know we only spoke personally for a little bit, but you seemed good at getting people to gather. And also put together so there was something I wanted to talk to you about before everyone else.
[ ... ]
Don't freak out, but did anyone tell you that there was a skeleton of a murdered person lying around in one of the rooms?
[There's a bemused tone to her voice, but just a slight one, because she'd kind of... fallen back on her role as Blue Angel to draw some attention to the profile issue (one of many) without really thinking too hard about it. Gathering people is her specialty, it's true. She's not sure about the rest of it.
Especially since apparently she gets extra special information now. Like this.
There's a definite pause where her eyes widen and then she puts a hand to her mouth, at a loss for words for a little while longer.]
A skeleton... of a murdered person? How do-- How do we know they were murdered?
[Which might be a stupid question, but they're in the middle of nowhere on a mountain and she's a walking computer program, so let's not take anything for granted here.]
Because the guy who examined the body said it matches up with a crime scene he found in one of the other rooms...and it really does look like the person was murdered. He said the damage on the skeleton was from being shot in the head and in the chest.
[ So you know... can't get anymore clearer than that. ]
A crime scene, with someone who was shot multiple times... [...] We were forced in here by a blizzard, and we're told not to leave.
[By this point, she's tamped some of the shock down and the hand over her mouth has migrated to her temple; she kind of looks like she'd like to massage it. Honestly, she's flashing back to a certain person yelling about sci-fi and aliens at this point, which is neither here nor there.]
If all of us grab some things and make a move out of here together, I think we can make it work until we're able to get somewhere that's actually safe.
[ Suffice to say Roxas has been wanting to leave ever since he saw the skeleton. Sure, he was unsure before then, but seeing that? Yeah. No. ]
I don't know if I want to start doubting the weather, too. They already have me doubting time, and place, and where I am in the first place.
[It's a bit exasperated, a bit wry, but as much as she likes gallivanting through data worlds that can change in the blink of an eye and where the rules can also be spun so long as you have a key -- having some solid ground is necessary, even when reality is fluid.
Right now, though, she crosses her arms and frowns, thinking.]
I don't know if everyone doing it is a good idea. We don't know what's out there, and it might be easier to get out to explore without having the staff interfere, if it's just a few people.
[Today was a day of recuperation, and it's certainly too late to go out in the snow now, but she absolutely plans on checking out the great outdoors tomorrow. Just for kicks.]
[ There's never any reason not to doubt anymore, or maybe that's just how he thinks. He won't say that at least. Today's been enough of a headache as it is already.]
Do you think they could actually stop us if we did all go out at once and tried to leave together tomorrow?
[ He seems to be of the idea that it would also be too late to go out right now himself, but tomorrow was fair game. Either way, Roxas going out is going to happen on his end too. ]
... I don't know. We don't know enough about them.
[Try not knowing anything, basically, except the ominous things like that they smile too much and know too much and may or may not be able to teleport, which she's counting as disadvantages for Team Blizzard.]
But anything has to be better than staying here like sitting ducks in a horror movie. If I could just find a signal...
[If she could just find a signal, maybe she could log out altogether. But she doesn't say that, because that's not the only reason a signal is necessary.]
[ He doesn't like it - the not knowing. It brings with him a familiar feeling of a different situation, but it's not like they can do anything about it right now, and he's feeling kind of impatient. Even if he's decided on what he's going to do tomorrow. ]
...A signal? From a radio?
[ Roxas is not from the advanced times but he doesn't quite understand why she would to catch a signal. ]
Oh... no. A network signal, for phones and computers.
[If... he knows what those are. She's never had to explain basic elements of her lifestyle so much in all her existence, honestly, it's pretty disconcerting. But while she's just as restless with their situation and now the (NEW!) dead bodies, she keeps her composure relatively steady anyway.
Honestly, she's starting to miss the freedom to be as frivolous as her outfit, or to channel everything into just dueling to change the world.]
If we have that, we have a way to find out where we are, contact people, or just to get any information outside this place.
[ He miraculously knows what a computer is. But... ]
Phones have network signals? And you know how to find one?
[ He vaguely knows what a phone is and you can use it to call someone, but his reference point doesn't even include knowledge of cellphones existing. Just old-fashioned, and he's just been winging using the tablet this whole entire time. Just press buttons on devices and you'll get somewhere. It's not wrong, right? ]
[As long as you're not sticking a keyblade in the tablet, you're ahead of the curve.]
Phones use network signals to connect to other machines. So... if you have one, and a little know-how and luck, you should be able to connect to something.
[That's a really, really rough explanation of the whole affair, and she's being optimistic about their circumstances -- and whatever network they'd even have access to -- but you know what. There are dead people and she is ready to bust this joint.]
Oh, so maybe they have a big computer in this place somewhere too. It'd probably be easier to do that from something like that than with a phone, right?
[ Roxas seems to picked up on the rough explanation well enough. He's not...really an optimistic sort of person to be fair, but he's not a pessimistic person either. He seems to just think that it's a realistic possibility that can happen since she seems to know enough about it. And also he's not the tech-savvy person here. ]
I wouldn't be surprised if they did. All of the profiles they put on the tablets, the information they've gathered, how we got here... I don't completely understand it, but they'd need technology. A lot of it.
And this is a big hotel.
[It would really be ideal if they could find some sort of central data-bank, or even a security command center, but again that's being purely optimistic. In truth, none of that has to be on-site; it's just somewhere to start looking.]
I'm not really good with technology, but...if I find anything that looks like it's an important computer or something, I'll let you know.
[ Roxas doesn't know anyone here, that's a fact. But she seems to be one of those who knows her way around technology, which means she probably wouldn't goof it up, and he can't say the same for anyone else. So far. ]
And I'll ask around for others who might be good with technology, or at least have some idea of where to start looking. We're going to need all the help we can get on this.
[She's making a few forays with that already, but it is indeed a big hotel, and a decent-sized group they've got. Even if they don't all try to break out at once, physically, there are other ways they can put their skills and strengths all together.]
[ So this week was interesting thus far, but Roxas' mind wasn't exactly on what happened earlier today or before when he went to seek Aoi out. Instead what was happened to maybe be the beginnings of a plan to do something.
Around this time, however, he assumed she might've been in her room, so he approached and gave the door a knock. ]
[She's been vaguely wondering how Roxas was doing since Monday morning, actually, since while they still don't know each other super well he seemed like one of the ones with initiative. It would be a shame if he had that knocked out of him by a gruesome death. Or five.
She's pretty sure they're going to have to contend with more, but she's tried not to think too hard about it. The point is: he'd been a bit concerning that morning amidst a lot of concerning things, and Blue Angel is rather glad to see him seek her out again.]
Hey. Yeah, come on in, I was just taking a break after all the excitement today.
[See: she played too much with the pup and somehow that was kind of tiring.]
[ Roxas was sure he was going to see deaths soon because he's still not an optimist which even got him into a dumb argument, oops, but he refused to believe that the situation was ultimately hopeless. He had enough motivation and belief for that...
Monday was a very hard day, though, because it was the first time Roxas had literally been close up to a dead body, and though that might've been true for possibly others too, he just literally didn't deal well. ]
Do you mean with the petting zoo?
[ He smiles a little at that as he comes in. ]
I was thinking of doing something, but I kind of realize if there's two people there it's probably a better idea than going it alone. Something like an outside exploration...? You haven't tried getting to the top of the resort from the outside yet, right?
[High-five for being some sort of weird Frankenstein monster mishmash between realist and idealist and... something....... It's a hard-knock life.
She's mostly recovered from the tender mercies of Monday Morning Murder Mayhem, though a lot of that is still owing to A. Duel Monsters and B. the subject of their current topic. Blue Angel returns the smile as she leads the way to the chairs available in the little and extremely blue room where she spends her days.]
Honestly, I've never seen this many different animals all together outside a zoo.
[It's seriously impressive for a girl who's used to a multimedia metropolis rather than any kind of wilderness. She blinks at his inquiry about the exploration and then gives a quick nod.]
Of course. After Kurusu-kun's adventure with the vents, I think it's a good idea to be cautious. [thanks, Akira] If you mean the roof, I haven't checked it all that closely. I've tried all the second floor windows, too, but nothing. They're all shut and curtained.
[ High-five! ... Though the blame of that rests with Sora for being connected with him so long ...
Roxas is recovering best by trying not to think about it. It's been only mildly successful.
He will take a seat in one of the chairs. ]
I've never been to a zoo, but it was really a lot to see than I expected in a place like this.
...You have a hoverboard, right? You'll be able to go higher with that and I'll just use my own way to get up with you at the same time so we can see what might be there.
[She doesn't have a Sora but she does have a cool big bro and an idol alterego, so it was kind of inevitable for her to turn out to be a mess of ideals and ideas that she's still sorting through when murder isn't afoot. #identityissueslyfe
She'll take a perch in a chair too, the pose made a bit comical by her mass of poofy clothing and wings. The more they talk, the more she's just going to sprawl in the chair, so she's almost sitting normally by the end.]
No zoos, huh? This really is a little zoo, so you've got something at least.
[Welcome to your expanded horizons that include carnivorous birds and sudden moose and maybe an invisible oil monkey???]
Yeah, my D-board should be able to get us to the roof in one piece. I think there's space for you on the board if you're good at hanging on and not moving.
[Just so they're not getting there separately and mildly defeating the purpose of more numbers!! Also is this guy just going to climb the building, seems like a bad idea.]
[ Hey, another thing they can bond over! Identity issues are so much fun.
Roxas' posture is just lying back like nobody (hah) cares, because he had a bad influence at one point in his life (hi Axel.) ]
I guess I do.
[ ... ]
I don't mind hanging on there with you - I didn't even know that was possible. [ But he is rather small...not that he's going to say that!! ] The next thing would be able to figure out when we're doing it, then?
[At least this Roxas probably isn't digital. I never finished KH Re:Coded so honestly I have no idea what was going on with that. But yeah, identity issues solidarity is probably one of the most common possible clubhouses in the resort right now. They could start an entire support group.]
It's possible, I just have to compensate for the change in balance if I have a passenger. The D-board is pretty sturdy. [she's actually not sure how much of a weight limit it has, vidya problems] And it's not like I really have a packed schedule. This is the worst vacation ever, but...
[At least it isn't summer vacation! ☆]
We could head out anytime during the next couple of days.
[ Good lord have mercy. That Roxas would actually be infinitely much more rude if he were here, unhelpful, and brattier to boot. It'd be like dealing with a lesser form of Vanitas (not really but!!), so it's probably for the best Re:Coded Roxas didn't happen.
Identity Issues support group sounds still like a magnificent idea. ]
I don't really weigh a lot, so it should be fine...then again, I don't really know how your D-thing works very well.
[ If not, he does have a backup plan. Two backup plans because he's started to think of having contingency plans out of pure spite. He's gonna agree quietly that it is the worst vacation, even his summer vacation and getting erased out of existence when he merged with Sora wasn't as bad as being forced into something like this.
[ As the time has gotten closer towards the end of the week, Roxas has begun to wonder more and more about what their options were, especially in relation to what they could do against the coming weekend. There's been more information, and yet... it looks like they still have some ways to go.
Would they make it in time before someone would have to die?
These are the thoughts that were on his mind as Roxas approached Aoi's room and gave it a gentle knocking. ]
Aoi? Are you there?
Edited 2018-12-27 22:05 (UTC)
BELATEDLY SLAMS HERE sorry I lost track of this somehow
[It's another case of tiger hell weekend: they have plenty of information, but only a handful of options, and very few of them can really take them where they want to go. That is to say: less death, more certainty, and maybe an inkling or two of what to do with the elephant spider in the room.
Aoi still hasn't figured that part out.
She is in her room, though, after the great communal puzzlening earlier, and comes to the door almost right away, peering at Roxas curiously.]
