[ Roxas doesn't know Akira well, that's true. He can't even claim to be someone who is exceptionally gifted at reading others. But if there is one thing about him...it's that he tends to have a good amount of skepticism and he's certainly not naive, either.

So, when Akira tells him after all what's happened, knowing that they couldn't stop Syazel from being killed and now an innocent man who had been rather helpful is about to be killed as well, that he's "okay", it makes him just stare in silence at him for awhile.

The silence isn't a few seconds, it's a good moment or so and it's entirely intentional. ]

I'm okay if you're okay. But the truth is, none of us are, so maybe we should try to talk about what we're going to do about it.

[purrtagonist]

We're going to keep trying.

[trying. that's what it keeps coming back to, right? trying. if only he knew what trying entailed. if only he had some kind of plan]

What else can we do?

[ Roxas' optimism isn't as bright as most of people's here, but he's determined, for however long that'll last, to do something. ]

There's probably some clues hidden around this place, right? So we just need to keep looking around. We might find something we can use against them...

[ ... ]

Remember that place you discovered last time? If you had back-up, maybe we can discover a little more of what's around there.

Ah. . . you mean in the vents?

[at that suggestion, Akira looks a little uncertain]

I don't know if that's such a great idea. Even with two of us, or three of us, the number of white blood cells I saw would overtake us within seconds.

...There was really that many?

[ That's not what he expected to hear - something discouraging, really. Then again, Roxas barely knows how an immune system works in general, just that it vaguely exists.

If he had, he might've reached the conclusion himself...still he looks kind of disappointed for a moment. ]

Do you think they'd fall for a diversion? Not...using someone as a diversion, but just something?

[and here, Akira shakes his head]

I don't know.

[HOW DO LIVING RESORT IMMUNE SYSTEMS EVEN WORK. . .]

If their goal is to purge the contagion-- presuming we're the contagion-- then. . . I doubt it.

[he had seen the single-minded focus the white blood cell had displayed when attacking him. he doesn't think they can be distracted]

[ He opens his mouth, almost as if to protest, before his shoulders slump and he looks kind of disappointed. ]

So...nothing.

[ He sounds a little frustrated too. ]

Then we need to keep an eye out for other things, I guess.

Yeah.

[Roxas is 100% right about that]

But if crawling through the vents isn't the answer, then we'll just have to find another one somewhere else. We have to keep searching. . . no matter how many wrong roads we go down first.

[ He'll nod...though he's a little disappointed, it doesn't mean that there weren't other venues for them to try. ]

We really do. It would be dumb to give up just because of a little set back.

But, wherever we end up looking, I hope we end up getting something substantial.

[ Roxas is naturally impatient, but already their situation was tough. It was a good reason not to be patient. ]

We will eventually. Even if we don't the first, or the second, or even the third time.

Eventually... but, I hope that's sooner than later.

[ Patience what is that, can you eat it. ]
