MEMORY 1
MEMORY 2
The lab is bright, though not without reason. The scientists and their cameras need to see everything so they can puzzle together just how your keyblade works. Your insistence of ‘it’s fine, it just works’ has never worked on them, and usually just leaves you feeling a bit peeved. Their desire to understand everything is relatable, but they take it much too far.
It reminds you of someone else you knew, once upon a time. Thankfully The Machine hasn’t spit that person out yet.
You look at the rather complicated safe in front of you, trying to find a keyhole. Eventually you locate it, hidden on one of the many dials on the front. You lift up the keyblade, and a light shoots out from the end, unlocking the safe and allowing the door to swing open.
“Excellent. Here is the next one.”
“Can we at least stop for lunch,” you ask.
“Lunch is at 1300 hours, as it is every day,” the scientist responds, not even bothering to look up from his notes.
You grumble to yourself and get ready for the next task. Why couldn’t they have given you field work?
MEMORY 3
If it’s correct, you remind yourself. The scientists could still be wrong, and if they were wrong, it’s your life that’s on the line. The armed guards waiting nearby are proof of that.
“Roxas! Vanitas! The package is on its way~”
You sigh in relief when you hear Cinque’s cheery voice. Not only has she survived her part of the mission, but she successfully completed it too. One less possible failure point in the chain of containing this particularly violent SCP.
You step out of the way as the cloud of dust and death floats down the hall, eventually settling in the small chamber, disappearing into the cube, which lies open. Then it shuts, and the figure goes silent.
Twenty locks are on the front of that cube in the middle of the floor. Twenty locks which no longer have keys.
Well, it’s time to use a universal key on them.
MEMORY 4
"Greeting, D-class personnel. My name is Dr. Szayelaporro Granz, researcher class C. You have all been selected, either personally by myself and Dr. Kurotsuchi, or by random chance, to accompany me on this field mission. Aren’t you all so lucky?" the man smiles and clasps his hands together, though the smile doesn’t reach his eyes. "I am also from SCP-6350, so let’s all work hard together, hm?"
He clicks something in his pocket, turning on a slideshow with what little information they have. He clicks through the bare-bones presentation as he speaks.
"The location we will be researching is a space-time anomaly known as ‘The Resort’. This location is a fancy ski chalet that moves around randomly, and thus far has eluded our attempts to contain it, or even properly research it. Recording equipment and drones have all proven worthless inside this anomaly. The Foundation have dispatched live staff here before, only for them to be lost. While our main goal is to find a way to secure and contain this anomaly, you may also consider a secondary objective to be rescue... or recovery, as the case may be. The Resort currently has an active zone in the Canadian Rockies, and that is where we will be entering. Once we go in, it will be up to all of you to unlock its secrets. So if you have any business to attend to... I suggest you do it soon. This mission may last several months."
He adjusts his glasses, then turns off the slide show. He opens his arms in a flamboyant gesture and an all too wide smile splits his face.
"Further information will be provided to you in a written dossier, my little actors and actresses! But for now, you know as much as I do. Thank you for your attention, and welcome to Mobile Task Force Lambda-5-b, the ‘Fictional White Rabbits’!"
The memory fades out as you all sit in uncomfortable silence...
MEMORY 5
But what about someone like you? Someone like her? You’re not normal people, you’re Nobodies. Do you even have enough of a soul to continue existing after death? Will the part of you that makes you ‘you’ still be there?
You still remember some things about her. Her name, her voice. The foods she liked to eat. The jobs she didn’t mind doing for the Foundation. But other parts are starting to fade. You’ve forgotten what her face looks like. You know she had black hair, and...brown eyes? Maybe? You know she smiled a lot, but you can’t quite recall what that smile was like.
You certainly remember the scared look she had, right before ‘that moment’. The moment when she went from living to...whatever comes after, for people like you two.
This life is dangerous, even moreso than life in the Organization had been. You could fall at any moment.
And when you do, will anybody remember you? Or will you gradually fade away from everyone’s mind, just like how she is from yours?
MEMORY 6
Pre-game CR + general notes
* Roxas as a whole was primarily more sullen and distant during his time in the Foundation, especially as time wore on. He tended to be sparky, blunt, distrustful, and pessimistic because of the things that happened as he spent his time there. He...probably had more issues with his existence and wrestled with complicated inner dialogue regarding that to the point of frustration/morose thoughts. But...he wanted to be seen as his own person, as something more than a Nobody even if he was sure his superiors saw him as nothing--just like every other field agent/lower ranked agent.
Most importantly, he wanted to live just a normal everyday life where he didn't need to worry about life or death.
Sometimes he looked out for others, some more discreetly than others--he looked out for Vanitas the most because he found himself drawn to him and before he knew it, he wanted to know him better, among other personal feelings.
He...also had much less self-preservation skills, especially after Xion died. Again.
Xion - A close friend of his--he knew almost everything about her, and she about him. They hung out a lot and when they were together, Roxas wasn't altogether happier, but he had moments when he felt like they were in the Organization in their beginning days. And everything was easier. Until you know, she faded away/died. Again.
Vanitas - Likely getting on their way towards being friends, Roxas did his best to look out for him for a myriad reasons. He doesn't know why at first, but he knew he couldn't stand the thought of him getting hurt, even at the cost of his own life, and he doesn't regret putting himself into that danger. Especially if it was to protect him.
Rean - Someone Roxas was getting to know, probably on the way towards becoming friends. He probably met him after Xion faded away, so he wasn't all that receptive to him at first, but then he started to get use to him, and even asked him to do some things from time to time. He thinks Rean is a kind person.
Aoi - Someone Roxas knows since they've been on a couple of missions together--they probably don't know each other too well, but at least they get along and are likely a good team no matter the mission.
Snake - Roxas probably saw him as a sort of ... responsible-like/trustable figure, and went to ask him a lot of questions about things because he'd likely have trusted him on his opinions with certain subjects he wouldn't with others.
Ryoga - "...Where the heck did this guy came from?", was probably the thought Roxas had when Ryoga appeared out of a mission in the middle of nowhere, bouldered the SCP, and skadaddled.
Atsushi - Roxas found this guy being lonely, and maybe it reminded him of himself so he went to chat him up and probably tried his best to become his friend or someone he can rely on.
Cinque - Knowing Cinque, she'd have easily befriended him, sullen or not. He'd definitely have watched her back a lot too... and not just on the battlefrield, because he thought she trusted WAY too easily. Even if that may or may not be true.
Cynthia - They probably got along okay, and talked from time to time about whatever when they crossed paths.
Kohaku - They didn't exactly get close all that yet, but he was someone Roxas liked to have some conversations with, so there was progress made towards that. There was probably some snarking shared between the two of them, too.
Yoshi - Roxas distrusted Yoshi immensely, found him off-putting, and thought he was liable to spy on other people to report them to the higherups within the Foundation. Suffice to say... he didn't like him very much back then compared to now...
Gerome - Distant, but not impossible to work with on missions. Roxas did at least think he was polite, which was more than what could have been said than some of the other loner types he'd seen around.
Timeline
Roxas was first brought into the Foundation as a D-Class Agent to help the organization contain SCPs. The beginning of his time in said organization was spent some time testing his power and ability as a Keyblade Wielder. Knowing his position well enough was the only reason he complied, and sooner than later, he ended up having a reunion with Xion, remembering that she existed and her painful relationship with him afterwards.
However, the two of them managed to get along just fine, and were a constant duo on many missions within the Foundation. Despite how little Roxas liked his time in another organization, he did just fine knowing that he had someone he'd thought he'd lost a long time ago back.
Roxas then went on a mission, with Vanitas as his backup, getting to become acquainted with the other Keyblade Wielder and Cinque by the end of it. During said mission, he retained his stubbornness in making sure the SCP was contained, though he still required Vanitas' help to bring an end to it.
The blond then soon lost Xion on another mission, and with it, lost some of his memories of her--however he never forgot the look on her face when she met her end. Following that, Roxas made extra sure to protect and watch out for those he managed to get close to--Vanitas being one of those people--despite the fact that it nearly costs him his life on two separate occasions. And on the second of those, Vanitas had to come in and save the blond himself.
Roxas is assigned to a mission to The Resort (aka Hotel Califronia), a time-space dimension hopping SCP along with some others. Following the amnesiac agent being used on him and the rest of the others, the blond found himself waking up in the snow as did those who accompanied him on the mission.
During Week 1 of Roxas' time at The Resort, the blond gets re-acquainted with a few people (Kohaku, , including Vanitas, who he questions (both about Roxas' own possible relation to this 'Ventus' he mentioned and his likeness to 'Sora'.) He also meets Akira and Minato for the first time, before the Mafia Game is announced by The Lady, who is an extension of The Resort itself.
Said Mafia Game is run like a traditional one, with deaths slated to normally occur on Thursday night by the Mafia, and the trial to find the Mafia on Saturdays--with an execution day for the chosen one by majority vote on Sunday.
By the end of the same week, the blond is frustrated and dispirited when the first dead body is found -- almost enough to do something reckless against the Lady. However, Minato soundly dissuades him from his plans, and soon they come upon their first execution of an innocent, named Medic.
As Week 2 progresses, Roxas remembers the fervent determination Akira Kurusu showed during their first talk, and even when all hope seemed lost - which he took as inspiration from then on. He also continued to challenge the assertions Vanitas made about himself and just his general everything. But by the end of the second week, the blond found himself (unknowingly) nursing a crush while trying to figure out the meaning of the memories everyone lost returning to them each week. Not to mention the mysteries of The Resort and the Mafia game.
This time, only other person he'd told of his true nature (besides Vanitas), was chosen by the Mafia and successfully killed--one Yoshi Nanashi. However, the trial ended up going off the rails when Makoto accused (rightfully) Flat of being a Mafia member--possessed by a ghost monster, as all members of the Mafia were. After a fight ensued, the very next day all were witness to Cinque being chosen as the executioner.
In order to correctly rid themselves of a mafia, the correct method of execution needed to be chosen, and Roxas had hoped like the others that would be so. Unfortunately, it wasn't, and by the end of the day, Roxas found himself escorting Cinque away while she was crying to have some ice cream with him later on as comfort.
When Week 3 came, Roxas' own worries only grew, as more people's lives were still in threat and then before he knew it, Ichigo revealed to everyone the truth they had all forgotten in the beginning of the week:
That they worked for a shady organization known as the Foundation. A fact that broke Roxas down albeit temporarily. He put up a front the rest of the week even though he felt himself crumbling. That Thursday he was one of those witness to a hint in a puzzle it being feasible to exorcise the "Barghest" -- one of the ghosts who possessed someone, making them effectively a Mafia member -- out of their chosen host. It was also the first Thursday he had Vanitas sleep in his room, and later on Rean as well.
Week 3's trial marked a significant point in both the supposed mafia "game" and Roxas' development. Especially since as things in the trial came to a head, Roxas revealed the "role" he had in the game (The Magistrate) and overturned the vote to save a friend dear to his heart (Akira) from sacrificing himself. As well as saving many others-- thanks to one of the mafia, Cinque, revealing herself, he was able to direct it to Makoto who was the Barghest's host at the time.
This allowed to make it possible to even save Makoto herself from execution and exorcise the Barghest come execution day, leaving just two of the three Mafia remaining in this twisted game.
During that week, Roxas realized how much Vanitas meant to him, confessed as much in so many words, and discovered that the Mafia Game was really just the tip of the iceberg. The senior Agent sent a transmission of sorts to everyone "playing" that they needed to eliminate the Mafia in order for him to get them all out of the SCP. However, the Mafia also simultaneously revealed that the Agent needed to vacate the spot he was in to fix what was wrong with the SCP in the first place.
Over the next three weeks, Roxas finds out that they really do need to get the senior Agent expunged from the Resort to save those who have died as well. However, what gets him through all of that is love, and the bonds with the friends that have given him strength through it all.
no subject
Roxas as a whole retains most of his original personality from his series. But thanks to his experiences in the Foundation as an Agent, and his time as forcibly participating in a life or death in the murdergame "The Resort" (Round 2 of the SCP murdergame series), the blond ends up having a few differences.
First of all is that the blond is very unlikely to trust many people straight off the bat because he's seen people front and send others on terrible missions if their rank was high enough -- all the while when he was a D-ranked Agent. He won't make it clear that he distrusts someone in an obvious manner, but it'll take awhile to coax personal information out of him unless he thinks there is a very good reason to reveal something--whether it is to get more information or because someone has made it clear that they're okay to trust. Part of this also has somewhat to do with DiZ's and Xemnas' actions canon-wise as well, and the blond is more liable to distrust older adults (those who look 30+ of age) than people around his age.
Roxas is more inclined to quite obviously view his friends and loved ones as the priority. He'll feel bad for it later on, but the blond has become the type not hesitate to make sure those he considers important to him are safe over those who aren't. In the Fifth Week's rapid-fire trial and execution where eight people were forced to be voted out, Roxas made a split second decision with choosing those he'd prefer to lose as opposed to people he'd rather not. He objected painfully to those he wished would live, because to him losing an important person close to him is the worst. He's also ready to get violent and do whatever it takes to protect them.
There's a degree of buried bitterness and vengeful lying in him, as the wrongs exacted upon him and his beloved ones by the Foundation are numerous, and they've faced no repercussions for it. Then the fact that he was forced into a game of life or death and then it ended without many consequences for those who initiated it has made him bitter. He hides it well, but in some private conversations, he's not made it a secret, and now when the blond feels inclined to say something spiteful. Well, let's just say he doesn't hold back (such as saying straight to Makoto's face Akira should've lived rather than her if they were talking about who was more "useful".)
On the flipside of things, Roxas has become able to weather through difficult situations, gaining more determination he had than before he landed himself in the Foundation. Now whenever something goes particularly bad, the blond will be able to keep himself going, even if he's feeling down and like he's ready to give up. Part of it might have to do with spite being a motivator, but the other part is definitely going to be through a sheer amount of inner will.
He's also learned how to read people more, due to his time spent with people like Vanitas, Akira, and Rean as he's noticed they tended to try to hide things. And it was borne out of wanting to be there to help those he cared about more. It's also made the blond on a whole more observant, even if he's liable to still miss some things, but generally he'll be watching a person very closely if he's just met them.
