[He doesn't reply immediately, but when he does, Roxas gets this.]
I'm fine. Ichigo dragged us out of there before the explosion hit, so we're both unharmed. We're lucky he was there waiting for us, because I don't know if we would've been able to manage on our own.
so you guys actually died before the explosion actually happened or was it still going off when you guys became ghosts and uh if youre sure youre actually fine then im okay with that too but if somethings bothering you im also here to talk about that too
More that it was still going off, yeah. I don't think I would have died otherwise.
Well... I'd be lying if I said what happened didn't bother me, but I don't think this is the time to be worrying about that. I heard the announcement and 'bad feeling' is an understatement.
Edited (i'm picky, what can i say) 2018-12-28 22:14 (UTC)
[ Surprise, Roxas does worry about his friends, but unlike his Other he has some sense of practicality. If he survives tomorrow or whatever then he can worry over it more later, so for now he'll leave it at that. ]
im kind of really worried about what the lady said and not just because it sounds like were going to be forced to be into a trial tomorrow...which already sounds bad enough but because she also didnt sound right for a moment there
Yeah. It sounds like whatever's happening to the rest of the staff is starting to show on her, too. I just hope this is some sort of mistake somehow... but at you guys already know who the killer is, so this one should end quickly.
Well... I was talking about myself, actually. None of the previous trials were ever like this; you guys didn't know who you were looking for and the killer was alive, so you needed to vote someone off. Maybe it's a little too optimistic to think this it can be different this time, but if they're already malfunctioning as is... maybe they'll let you vote for someone who's already dead.
{ SPOILERS: it didn't, but they don't know that now. ]
it would actually make sense if they let us vote for who did it instead of just ... i dont know trying to force it on other people who werent even involved in that mess thats how it seems to have gone anyway unless we made something like an incorrect vote
Yeah, the rules say the point of the trial is to debate who the killer is anyways, so it's not like you're violating the spirit of the game or anything, I think.
Anyways, we'll be supporting you guys as best we can on our end too. I don't know how much we can do, but we'll be there if you need us.
thanks rean on the flipside if theres anything weird or anything happening on your end can you reach out and tell me i know you guys are probably going to be not in as much danger as we are unless you go looking for it like yoshi did but i want to just make sure
Let me know if there's anything you'd like me to try over here, too. I haven't had a chance to go through every single nook and cranny yet, but considering there are things present that you guys can't see over there, I'll bet there's stuff we can access that you guys can't.
I think the mess before was because they investigated the other guest's rooms, but we can see if anything's changed recently. I can try with the rats, although you guys might actually have better luck with them; Sol can translate what they're saying, so you might be able to figure out their intentions better than we could.
It's... actually more or less the same, as far as layout goes. We do have some extra objects like the tablets and our clothes, but I was talking more about the notes people were finding.
maybe hold off with the guests rooms then...i still dont want to endanger you guys if we can avoid it sol can translate what theyre saying?? i had no idea did you speak to them before
[ Grats he actually added some question marks somewhere in there... ]
oh right well maybe if you guys take a look around again like on your side in the storage area there could be some notes there
Well, at the rate the resort is going, we might not have a choice but to take the risk. Still, we'll at least wait until after the trial tomorrow before deciding anything, I think.
I did, and yeah, he can. He said they were like a collection of rat minds that were connected together, although rather than sharing thoughts, it was more like... a committee that votes on what they say. Anyways, I tried to ask them more about the mafia game, but they said the resort requested them to keep quiet about why the game was being run.
Yeah, we can do that. It really makes me wonder if whoever's leaving these behind is sitting around and watching this from a distance, though...
yeah waitings a good idea ... i guess i understand if you guys have to with everything thats going on :(
[ He isn't too happy about the idea, ostensibly. ]
so the rats are like another hivemind but less of a hivemind in a way thats kind of interesting maybe theyll be more open to talking about the game later on i hope
and as for whos leaving behind what...i know for when the others found the notes recently they were written by the lady and it sounds like the oil guest just straight up and took them maybe or thats what i assumed it really could be someone else out there taking them and making a game out of it but if thats the case why would they even do that
It wouldn't be the last time I've been in dangerous situations before, and I'm betting that's the same for a lot of us over here. So don't worry about us and take care of yourselves, alright?
Yeah, especially if things really start to get bad. I can't imagine they'd want to sit still and do nothing if they could manage to get help for the resort.
The oil guest might've just been playing if they really were acting like a cat, but it's 34 I'm wondering about. They left a note for the others to find, if I'm not mistaken.
the 34 did leave a note for them to find and from i understand the 34 person is something called a nue or something and thats another thing that caused some trouble for the dead whatever it is seems to like playing around too but its probably in a different way than the cat...
week 5, sunday (post-everything went so wrong dear aidios)
[There's going to be a knock on Roxas' door sometime, and a floating notebook that probably looks familiar because it's the same one Rean showed him a couple weeks ago.]
[ Roxas goes to the door to open it soon after, looking kind of like less a mess than he did yesterday (he was definitely paler than a ghost around that time even if he gave it his best after the "trial" to appear okay), and he blinks at the floating notebook that he sees...
Then a look of confusion that turns into a look of recognition. ]
[ That sure is a pen that...appeared out of nowhere.
Roxas opens his mouth, and then closes it at the question, however. That's probably a good sign of things already. ]
...I'm not sure.
[ At least it's a start, especially with the painful feeling that returns when he thinks of what happened to the trial, but he retreats further into the room so that Rean can come closer, and they can communicate more or less in more privacy. ]
I just watched so many people throw their lives away, and it feels like I did nothing but watch it happen and kind of...just help with killing a lot of innocent people. Even if we'll likely find a way to bring them back.
[The notebook and pen come floating in after Roxas, ending up on a table after one of the chairs is pulled over.]
Yeah. I know how you feel, and I can't imagine how much worse it would've been to have to make those sorts of decisions. But I also know that it's not your fault at all, Roxas. I know you did your best with what you were given, even if it doesn't feel that way right now.
[ ...That would be a funny image that Roxas would have probably quietly snorted at if not for the severity of their situation and the discussion.
The blond takes a seat at one of the chairs, resting his chin on one of his hands. ]
It...doesn't.
[ But hearing Rean says that helps a little bit, even if it's not entirely obvious, and then he brings his arms around to hug himself, eyes closing tight. When he speaks again his words, they sound quiet, and small. ]
...I hated feeling so useless, so scared. It felt like I was being so selfish too, w-when, I-I...
[ Roxas had been trying so hard not to cry, but here he was unable to even finish, trembling, and letting out small sobs as tears slid quickly down his face. It was too overwhelming for him not to. This guilt and pain he felt...was it how Rean felt when he woke up on the other side after everything? ]
I-I didn't want to hurt anyone! I didn't...but how could I call myself a good person after any of that? How could any of us?!
[There's a moment where there's absolutely no movement before a light scrape of the chair rings out, and then there's an arm lightly wrapped around Roxas' shoulders from behind, with a couple of small pats to accompany it.]
[ Roxas doesn't even have any other words, as he let's himself continue to sob and cry it out right there for quite awhile. He knows where the arm and the patting is coming from so he doesn't shy away from that either, but maybe it helps him get it out of his system faster than it would've without.
So then his sobs eventually quiet, even if he's blinking still falling tears out of his eyes, and shaking a little.
Maybe he still needs more time before he's even able to say anything, but he's kind of grateful that Rean did that. ]
[The arm will stay until Roxas calms down a little more, just continuing with the occasional pat when it seems like his shoulders are quaking the most. He'll slowly slip away back over to the notebook after though, writing down a quick message and tentatively sliding it over.]
Do you want me to get something for you? Like tea or some snacks?
[ He has no idea how to object to that further, so he's just going to take it and wait until he'll get back, wiping at his eyes before settling his somewhat still unsteady hands in his lap.
... Now that he thinks about it, something warm might be good to have after all of that after all. So, he'll just wait. ]
[It takes about 10 minutes, but a floating tray with a pot of tea, cups and a plate of cookies comes into the room, settling on the table. After another minute or so of pouring out the tea and placing it in front of Roxas, he takes up the notebook again for another message.]
You're a good person, Roxas. I don't think that you would feel this way if you weren't. Even beyond that, you genuinely care for people and look out for them, so I have every confidence that you'll push through and figure out a way to end all of this. And as a friend, I'll be supporting you every step of the way too.
[ Roxas reaches out to the cookies first, despite there being tea, but then again the tea was probably just recently made after all. So he reads the words as he's chewing some of the cookie, pausing further to swallow it a minute after. ]
...It's been hard for me to think any of those things were true after today, but...thanks. Hearing you say that makes it sound kind of believable, even if I know I'll keep trying to get you all out of here.
[ After all of this, if they're successful, he had to wonder if anyone would come out of this not mentally scarred. His next words are spoken again but softer as he finally reaches for the tea; ]
[Rean's own cup sits untouched as well, although there's no indication of any movements towards the cookies, either. Instead, another message is written out:]
Yeah. Same here. [A pause.] We'll make it happen. I'm sure of it.
