[ Roxas attempts to send messages to some of his newly dead friends he knew via tablet, but...he gets frustrated when nothing happens because of it cutting out. Then he just angrily throws it across the floor in his room because it seems useless.
Then he'll sigh, and begin to open his Nintendo DS, unaware of anyone in the room... ]
[ Roxas looks at the post-it note, a look of confusion coming over his face at first, before he just ends up nodding. The second one of those helped, and he swallows thickly, almost feeling the tears starting to come up which he's been desperately trying to push back. ]
...I guess I could say that some people might technically say my real name is "Sora", but...like me, you'd probably prefer to get called Snake instead, right?
[ Pause. ]
Or... do you want me to call you David? I can do that too.
[ Roxas is making sure he understood that carefully, and then he shifts on the bed so he's now indian-style, facing the other completely from where he remembered the console had been held out from. ]
... It sounds kind of a little similar, I think. As in how we got those names--"Sora" or "Roxas" weren't even names I'd chosen for myself. They were just names given to me--though "Sora" was more of a name people called me because they thought I was someone else rather than my own person.
[Snake listens in on the rest of what he has to say. Being treated as someone else instead of his own person...it's something familiar, and prompts another post-it.]
[ Roxas gives a pause, thinking about how to explain this...without making it too confusing. Let's start off simple (or try to) ]
Sora is my Other--or you can just say my 'other half' if that makes it easier to understand. When I came into existence, it was because he had a moment where he stopped existing as himself, and let's say something like the energy from that moment kind of spontaneously created me. But...people didn't consider me a person like they did Sora, because technically I came from him and I wasn't even really human. Basically, when it came down to it, they just thought of me as a part of him.
[There's a distant, ghostly hnnrrrhhh. What Roxas was describing was testing the realm of what he could conceive, but, at the same time...it all made sense, really.
It takes him a moment to think of what to say - the problem with the sticky notes, they required far more forethought - and then another is handed over.]
This the first time people have seen you as yourself?
[ This is why Roxas is saving the light vs. darkness and non-existence conversation (sort-of) for later, probably. ]
...Yeah, in awhile anyway, since the last people I saw before I faded away told me I was just "part of Sora", and that's it. And I'm sure the Foundation didn't see me as much of anything--or any of us, really.

Who's there? Minato, Yoshi, Inaba, or...Rean?

Right, it can't do that anymore.
So, Roxas gets a post-it note on the tablet screen.]
David
[And then, quickly, to avoid confusion, a post-it over the top of that.]
Snake. Thats my real name

It's not like I chose either of them.
[Then, another one.]
Snake was only ever a code name. A legend. A shadow to live in.
David is just a person's name. I don't hear it very often.
[And, then, a final post-it.]
Let's go with that one.

Yeah. David.

[Silver linings, and all.
After a pause, he hands him another note, addressing what he'd really come here for.]
Sorry you had to see that.
But I had to do it.

You keep saying that, but...
[ Roxas kind of makes a face at that, letting his words trail off. ]
I don't like it. You shouldn't have had to throw your life away like that. [ ... ] I can't forgive this place, for making you do that.
