[ This week has barely started and already it's been a lot in terms of everything that's come their way. Yet at this point in time Roxas thinks they're still going to need more than that...however grateful he's been for the help.
And speaking of grateful, he finds himself in front of Snake's door at some nebulous time in the day, giving it a knock. ]
[ Roxas only looks confused at the question...yeah he doesn't seem to get it, so he'll just shake his head. ]
I don't really talk to her much.
[ Then he heads into the room and looks at the boxes, also blinking more than once, heading over to one of them to see if they'd be okay to set on. Before deciding to sit nearby one instead. ]
...I guess some of what we were speaking about yesterday. I noticed that a lot of people seemed to have experience dealing with bad organizations...or we had memories of that at least. [ Not just talking about the Foundation but their "lives" before then. ] You don't have to really say or go into detail, but I was wondering if it was the same with you?
[Snake...well, he should've been expecting a question like that. Still, he can't help but exhale a sigh as he sits himself down on the floor.]
Yeah. [Things were more complicated than 'good' and 'bad', but, so long as the shoe fit...] Can't seem to get away from them.
[He rubs the back of his neck, with a tired grunt. He thought he might've been out after what happened in Alaska, but then there was all this with The Foundation.
There's a pause, and he has an idea why he's asking.]
[ Roxas nodded. Because judging by their circumstance...these organizations seem to just literally be everywhere. It's a funny thing to think that you might be out of the woods for one reason (him being merged into Sora) but then somehow it turns out that life decides to happen to make the impossible possible. ]
Yeah. At one point I was stuck with a bad group before the whole Foundation thing happened. It was probably kind of easy to guess, wasn't it?
[ Though probably not for the reason Roxas thinks it is. ]
[ Roxas opens the door, looking drained and his eyes are red around the edges, but his eyes aren't very watery...but yeah tonight's been difficult. Not a sad one by virtue of what he did...but it wasn't easy nonetheless. ]
[ Roxas moves to the side to let him come in if he wanted, and if Snake doesn't close the door, he will. He didn't know what Snake wanted to start off with though, so he'll wait patiently for that as he heads back to sit back on his bed. ]
[ So, a lot was happening during this week even though it'd just barely started, and...in light of what was spoken at the meeting, Roxas had some questions he wanted to present to a certain someone. And here he was, giving Snake's door a knock. ]
[ Words spoken after he's come in, and for a moment he's quiet, considering his other ones as he decides to lean against a wall nearby. ]
If you don't have any plans, I'd like to ask for your help in doing some looking around in the vents with us. I know you said you wouldn't let anyone else in there, but...you must've had an idea that some people would've just prepared to go anyway. I trust the others know what they're doing, but I thought the more experienced people involved, the better.
[ Roxas isn't fully knowledgeable of Snake's capabilities, but he mentioned he was involved with an organization, so that must mean he was involved in dangerous missions like him. ]
If you don't agree or don't want to...it's fine. I just wanted to try asking.
[Snake listens to Roxas, tense, then releases some of it in a sigh. He can't fault a rebellious spirit, but it felt the more they tried to keep them in line, the more they tried to break out of it.]
You're just going to go in there if I don't, right?
[He knows its dangerous in there, and it feels reckless to just go with little intel - but he'd lost people putting his safety first before. He's not doing it again.]
I'll do it. But I work solo. I don't want anyone else going in there unless I've cleared it.
[ So after everything was said and done, Roxas was going to check in on some people he hadn't seen much of or just in general wanted to make sure were okay. His was bad, but Roxas...well...
After hearing some of people's memories, of what the Foundation did to the others, it made him want to try, even if it hurt. Maybe they could come out better together by sharing what hurt them.
So soon he was in front of one of those people's doors - and he knocked on Snake's door. ]
[Well, there is a mess of boxes outside his door first of all - so watch your step, Roxas.
There's a period of silence, followed by a muffled grumble.]
Go away.
[...Maybe that was a bit harsh, for Roxas at least. From behind the door, he drags a hand down his face and then speaks louder, tiredness heavy in his voice.]
[ That ... sure is a mess of boxes for sure, and he's careful about making his way closer - however, when he hears Snake say those words, it doesn't really make Roxas go away. Not for the moment, anyway.
He dealt (still deals) with a certain someone a lot, and that helps. ]
...I wanted to talk with you. Is that okay?
Edited (the door is not in fact open, self) 2018-12-25 01:39 (UTC)
[ Roxas feels like he shouldn't be surprised, but part of him kind of is - they've been all having a bad week and it'd just started, after all. Still, it makes him hesitate for the first time, placing his hand on the door, but then letting it drop. ]
...The dreams we had. I wanted to talk about that.
[ His words come out sounding painfully awkward because he knows of what he intended, however saying it to the point makes him feel kind of out of sorts, his own painful memory hanging over his head. ]
I thought it might make it easier...if we shared what we had remembered with each other. If you don't want to, I'll understand.

After a moment, the door opens.]
What do you need, kid?

[ His mind's on what was revealed yesterday, and he thinks maybe if some personal things come up...he might not want it to be heard by everyone. ]

...You sure you don't want to talk to Ripley?
[...well, he can't pawn everyone seeking advice or company off onto her.
He opens the door, and gestures for Roxas to come in. There should be some space to sit, amongst all the boxes.]
What's on your mind?

I don't really talk to her much.

Need something?

Can we talk a little? About something kind of important.

Go ahead.
[Once he’s in, he closes the door. They only had so much privacy with The Outsider around, but a little is better than none.]

There's a dull sound as he plants a hand on the back of the door and leans against it.]
What about?
[Snake's answer to his question, clearly, is "it depends".]

...The dreams we had. I wanted to talk about that.

There were many things Snake never told Roxas. Not that he was hiding them, but...sometimes, it was best to leave the past well enough alone.
But, after last night, it's clear nothing stays buried in this place.
He doesn't open the door, he's not ready to face anyone yet, but relaxes in his stance against it.]
